Owner of Whiskey River Nightclub threatening to sue after artist no-show
Ernest Shepherd, the owner of the club, would not go on camera but tells 41NBC he’s looking to file a lawsuit against both “Lil Boosie” and MBP Promotions.
Concert goers caused more than $500 worth of damage inside of the club when they found out that Lil Boosie wasn’t coming.
The club owner says he got confirmation via telephone on Thursday night that the artist was coming and an email the next morning from the promoter, MBP, stating that everything was worked out with Lil Boosie’s probation and the show would go on.
Shepherd says he is suing because of the reputation they have put on his club.
“He knew when he signed the contract, that he would not be able to fulfill the contract due to his probation agreement,” Shepherd says. “He misled the promoters, it was out of our control. It’s not the club’s fault, the only one you can apply it to, is Boosie. When an artist backs out, it puts a hurting on the business.”
Shepherd also adds that while he understands why the party goers are mad, they shouldn’t have trashed the place.
Friday, July 10th will be the next opening night at the Whiskey River.
