Owner of Fincher’s Barbecue Dies at 66

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The man known for some of Middle Georgia’s favorite barbecue passed away early Sunday morning.

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said Douglas Fincher, the owner of Fincher’s Barbecue, died of natural causes while at his home in Macon.

Since 1935, the Fincher family has been a staple in the community, serving up some of the area’s favorite southern dishes. There are now four locations across Middle Georgia with the same menu it had over 78 years ago.

According to Jones, funeral arrangements have not been set. Fincher was 66.
