Overturned Pickup, Leaking Propane Tank Causes I-75 Shut Down

photo1MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Macon police and emergency crews shut down I-75 south Tuesday night after a pickup truck overturned, and a leaking propane tank was lodged underneath it.

That’s according to an officer near the scene of the accident.

The accident happened just before the I-16 and I-75 split near exit 165 around 6:40 pm.

Traffic was backed up as late as 8:20 Tuesday night. Police were directing traffic off of the interstate near the Pierce Avenue exit.

The officer on the scene also told 41NBC it was a single car accident. A Macon police dispatch officer said the driver’s family drove him to a hospital in Bleckley County.
