Otis Redding Foundation to host 3rd Annual King of Soul Music Festival

The festival is September 6 and 7, which is to honor Otis Redding’s 83rd birthday.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) —The Otis Redding Foundation is hosting the 3rd Annual King of Soul Music Festival.

The festival is September 6 and 7, which is to honor Otis Redding’s 83rd birthday.

Vice President/Executive Director of the Otis Redding Foundation, Karla Redding-Andrews, says the event is to celebrate Otis’ impact on soul music and the world. The event will also raise funds for the new Otis Redding Center for the Arts which is set to open in October.

On September 6, there will be “An Evening of Respect” at the Macon City Auditorium and a performance by St. Paul and the Broken Bones.

On September 7, the event will be at the Capitol Theatre with the Big ‘O’ Homecoming Show with DJ N.A.B.S.
