Open Meeting Law Violated at Warner Robins City Hall

A meeting held at Warner Robins City Hall violates the open meetings law.

According to city attorney, Jim Elliot, Mayor Chuck Shaheen held the meeting yesterday morning. He invited two members of the Warner Robins Building Authority to hear a pitch from the CEO of Landings Golf Club. A third member of the authority board showed up, which institutes a quorum.

Now, Elliot says, although it was technically a violation, he believes it was a harmless error because no action was taken by anyone present, and no decisions were made. Elliot also says, “Everyone is aware and in support of public meetings, this is a good lesson for everyone to learn.”
