Open Forum Gives WR Chance to Speak Out

Members of the Warner Robins City Council hosted an open forum
for citizens to voice their concerns Friday evening.

Residents had the opportunity to address the board with issues regarding property annexation, sewage systems, and find out if there are plans in place for vacant stores in the community.

The issue with the most questions dealt with the completion of a sports complex that was voted on 2 years ago. Councilman Bob Wilbanks says there is a majority vote on the table to get the complex done and there’s no reason why it shouldn’t be.

“I think the people are empowered by information and I think they’re getting some good information tonight that they didn’t know and we’ll see what the cooperation is with the citizens who come down and get involved with the process at City Hall.”

City leaders say with 66,000 residents and 33,000 registered voters in Warner Robins, there’s no reason more changes can’t be made in the community.
