One-of-a-Kind Health Clinic Opens on Flight Line at Robins Air Force Base

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Quick, convenient, and right in the middle of the action! Robins Air Force Base celebrated the opening of a facility that’s all that, located right on the flight line.

Inside the FAST FORWARD facility, there’s rehab equipment and first aid gear. Commander of Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex, Brigadier General Cedric George, described it as a one-stop-shop for injured workers.

“If they’re injured, sprained, strained, cut, we can do an initial assessment here and then get them right back to work,” said Gen. George.

It’s location on the flight line makes it easy for employees to get too. It gives them no excuses not to get minor or major injuries checked out.

It’s name FAST FORWARD stands for First Aid Station, Treatment, and Forward Operating Rehabilitation of Workers Accentuating Restorative Dynamics.

“I think we hit the nail on the head and we got a bulls eye here with the type of facility that we have,” said Colonel Michael Rappa, Chief of Occupational Medical Services for RAFB, M.D.

Dr. Rappa says the clinic specializes in prompt first aid care and gives workers access to rehabilitation specialists for acute injuries.

“This facility here can take care of over 90% of the injuries we experience here at Robins Air Force Base,” said Rappa.

It’s the only place in the United States Air Force where you’ll find a clinic like this one.

“One of a kind in the air force, and we’re excited about it, and excited about the potential it represents here today,” said George.

General George says this facility is something employees asked for. It’s open until 9:30 pm Monday through Friday to accommodate workers when they’re off the clock.

The clinic is about 2,000 square feet. George said it cost $175,000 to get it up and running.
