Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred Tuesday afternoon at a hospital in Wilmington

(CNN)- Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred Tuesday afternoon at a hospital in Wilmington.
Emergency crews responded around 3:30 p.m. to Wilmington Hospital, located at 501 West 14th Street, after reports of an active shooting.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including the FBI, Delaware State Police and local law enforcement.
Police said two people were shot during the incident.
“Police located two gunshot victims. One of those victims has tragically died from his injuries,” said Wilmington Police Chief Wilfredo Campos.
Authorities confirmed one person was killed and another was injured. Additional details about the victims have not been released.
A patient guide working at the hospital said he heard gunfire coming from the ground floor of the facility.
“I was in the emergency room,” said Brian Pfeffer, a patient guide at Wilmington Hospital. “I just got out of the emergency room and ran, and they’re still over there going in and out.”
The hospital was placed on lockdown during the incident as officers secured the scene. The lockdown was later lifted.
Delaware Governor Matt Meyer addressed the shooting following the incident, noting that the tragedy hit close to home because his wife works within the hospital system.
“Every Delawarean deserves to feel safe whether at home, at school, at work, or seeking care at a hospital,” Meyer said.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not released information about a possible suspect or motive.
