One arrested, two on the run after Milledgeville car accident

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Milledgeville Police Department is looking for two people who ran away from officers after a hit and run accident Saturday night.

Major John Davis said Calvin Hooks was arrested on scene, but Jamario Napier and another person are still on the run.

Hooks is charged with obstruction of an officer and possession of a gun.

Officers took out warrants for Napier’s arrest on the same charges.

An incident report explained an officer saw a blue Tahoe rear end a small car while at the intersection of Dunlap Road and North Columbia Street.

The Tahoe pulled back out into traffic, went through a Walgreen’s parking lot and into a Wendy’s parking lot.

The officer followed the car and then started chasing two suspects who got out.

The report said they ran toward the Castlewood area in the woods.

The officer saw Hooks get out of the car and arrested him after he tried to run away.

Investigators searched the car and found a .22 caliber gun.

Around this time, officers heard gun shots from the woods.

Davis said no one was injured during the car accident.

Georgia State Patrol is investigating the wreck.

The Milledgeville Police Department said GSP will also file charges against Napier.
