Old Book Sale Returns to Macon

The 43rd annual Old Book Sale is back at Central City Park in downtown Macon.

The “Friends of the Library” volunteers have been collecting books for almost a full year leading up to this weekend’s event.

The books are donated from people and libraries who no longer need or want the used books. All the money raised from the book sales goes to the five Macon and Bibb County libraries to buy new books.

This year’s book collection boasts more than 150,000 books of all varieties.

Row upon row of books can be found as soon as you walk through the doors. Books about travel, cooking, Oprah’s picks, and even old textbooks are just a sample of the varities packed inside the building.

The books range in price from $0.50 to $1,000, but the average price is between $3.00-$4.00.

The Old Book Sale runs;

  • Friday 10a.m.-7p.m.
  • Saturday 10a.m.-5p.m.
  • Sunday 12p.m.-5p.m.
