Ocmulgee National Monument To Celebrate Nene Kerretv Trail
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Ocmulgee National Monument is gearing up for a kick-off event this weekend to celebrate the Nene Kerretv Trail. The Creek name means “path to discovery” and the event will highlight the active trail grant received by the National Park Foundation.
Park Ranger Angela Bates said free pedometers will be given out to the first 200 visitors. The kick-off will host a 1 mile walk to the Great Temple Mound. The trail covers 16 miles total.
The event is Saturday, June 8. It starts at 10A.M. at 1207 Emery Highway in Macon.
