Flag football players among Northside college signees

The signing ceremony included athletes from sports ranging from baseball to cheerleading and flag football.

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Northside High School celebrated a group of student athletes signing college scholarships Thursday with honorees representing a range of sports from baseball to cheerleading.

Among those signing were Jazmyn Brown and Kennedy Ford, who each earned scholarships to play flag football, a sport continuing to grow at the collegiate level.

Ford described the moment as both unexpected and thrilling.

“Very shocking, but very exciting,” she said. “Having family and friends around is very fun, and I’ve enjoyed it.”

Brown said the ceremony made everything feel official.

“I’ve honestly been excited about the whole week, because it finally solidifies I get to go to college where I get to blossom at,” she said.
