No “Super” Chicken Wing Sales for Macon Business
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — On a day that’s expected to be a big win for local wing joints,
the owner of Francar’s in Macon says this year sales were less than super.
Carl Fambro says every year Super Bowl Sunday is one of the most stressful, and the most successful days. During last year’s event he had more than 100 orders but this year, his restaurant was fairly quiet.
He believes the sluggish sales are in part due to the fact that Atlanta didn’t make the big game.
“This year we’re seeing a lot smaller orders, a lot fewer orders, but you know, I’m thinking that if the falcons had won like we were all pulling for then today would have been a lot different,” says Fambro.
Fambro says the price of wings has also increased from $87 to $95 per case. Even though they’ve tried to keep them down, he’s had to up his prices slightly to make up for the cost.
Despite lower than expected sales, he still says today was a good day. The staff is gearing up for a Mardi Gras celebration on February 12th!
