No positive Tuberculosis tests yet

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The children who attend Daycare at Neighborhood Academy show no signs of Tuberculosis, so far.

Investigators tested more than 100 students after it was confirmed last week that a 9 month old has the disease.

The Director of Neighborhood Academy, Daylon Martin, said every test investigators read today came back negative.

According to Health Officials, a positive test does not necessarily mean the person has TB. It could mean they’ve been exposed to the germ over time.

Jennifer Jones from North Central Health District told us if a test comes back positive, the person will then be referred to a physician for a chest X-ray. The chest X-ray will show some of the confirmatory signs of Tuberculosis.

Officials said it could be a while before every test is read.
