No. 34 Bobcat Women’s Tennis Posts Fourth Shutout
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. (GCSU RELEASE) – The No. 34 Georgia College women’s tennis team (4-2) has shut out every opponent it has beaten this season, this time blanking Albany State University (0-3) in non-conference action 9-0 Monday at the Centennial Center Tennis Facility.
The Bobcats didn’t surrender a single game to the undermatched Golden Rams, who fielded only four players, having to surrender third doubles as well as fifth and sixth singles.
At first doubles, Katie Krupp (Evans, Ga.) and Camille Clausse-Pujo (Bordeaux, France) teamed for the first time this season, shutting out Nicolette Williams and Keona Livatt. Cristalei Polk (Powder Springs, Ga.) and Hannah Serdinia (Suwanee, Ga.) improved to a team-best 5-1 with an 8-0 win at second doubles over Kiara Thompson and Mercedes Stokes.
Macy Polk (Powder Springs, Ga.) shut out Livatt in the first slot, and Clausse-Pujo made it two wins on the day with a blanking of Williams in the second spot. Cristalei Polk beat Stokes in the third spot, and Serdinia added a shutout win of Thompson in fourth singles.
GC women’s tennis has now won four straight home openers.
The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 1 p.m., traveling to No. 1 Armstrong Atlantic State University.
