No. 32 Bobcat Baseball Falls to No. 1 Tampa, 13-0

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. (GCSU RELEASE) – Giving up runs in six of the nine innings, the No. 32 Georgia College baseball team (4-2) dropped a 13-0 contest to defending National Champion University of Tampa (8-1) Monday at John Kurtz Field.

Tampa broke open a scoreless game with three runs in the second inning, adding another three in the fourth to push it further out of reach.

Centerfielder Rob Hogenkamp (St. Louis) was the lone multi-hit performer, going 2-for-3 with a pair of singles. The Bobcats couldn’t manage an extra-base hit off a trio of Tampa pitchers. Starter David Heintz threw five innings with five hits and a walk for the win (3-0).

Bobcat starter Dallas Draviczki (Mission Viejo, Calif.) couldn’t escape the third inning in the loss (0-1).

Tampa leadoff man Connor Obrochta was 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs. Obrochta hit one of the team’s three home runs on the day.
