NewTown Macon honors late President, CEO through education fund

42-year-old Rogers died on November 24 from a cardiac emergency, according to Coroner Leon Jones. Rogers leaves behind his wife, Meaghan,and  his children, Jack (10) and Ellie (7).

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – NewTown Macon announced the establishment of an education fund for the children of the late President and CEO, Josh Rogers.

42-year-old Rogers died on November 24 from a cardiac emergency, according to Coroner Leon Jones. Rogers leaves behind his wife, Meaghan,and  his children, Jack (10) and Ellie (7).

The NewTown Macon Board of Directors Chair William D. Underwood announced the establishment of the Jack and Ellie Rogers Education Fund.

NewTown Macon released the following statement:

Throughout his tenure at NewTown, Josh’s commitment to revitalizing the heart of Macon extended beyond his professional endeavors and encompassed his family. As he once said, “My commitment to downtown and NewTown is a really special one that involves my whole family.”

The Jack and Ellie Rogers Education Fund will cover education costs for the Rogers children. Board members from NewTown Macon will contribute to the fund and ask the community for contributions to help future education opportunities for Jack and Ellie.

NewTown Macon says that Josh Rogers’ memorial service will be held on December 2 at 11 a.m. in Willingham Hall’s Toney Auditorium on Mercer University’s campus.
