NewTown Macon Announces ‘Focused on the Future’ Fundraising Chair
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – NewTown Macon has an existing campaign aiming to boost residential and commercial traffic in the downtown area.
The organization launched “Focused on the Future”-their 5 year campaign plan-earlier this year, targeting three major parts of the city hoping to add 125 lofts, and increase the number of businesses by 25 percent.
Today, Dan Speight with State Bank was announced as the fundraising chair of the initiatives.
“It’s a process and I think everyone has to understand that. This is something that’s every not going to happen overnight…” Speight says, “I think anyone looking for overnight success is not something that we should be thinking about, but what are we going to look like two years from now, five years from now, ten years from now.”
NewTown’s campaign goal is to keep the occupancy rate of downtown lofts and business spaces at 85 percent as Macon continues grow.
