Newt Gingrich Wins Georgia with Almost Half the Votes

ATLANTA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Newt Gingrich won his home state of Georgia tonight, with nearly half the votes.

The former Speaker of the House got 48%.

It was a close race between Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney all everning.  Romney ended up with 24% of the votes; Santorum came in third with 21%. Ron Paul came in 4th with 6%..

Gingrich was introduced by his wife Callista in Atlanta tonight. They both thanked supporters, and said the only opponent left is President Obama in November.
