New W.T. Anderson Health Center opens in Macon
The newly renovated and relocated center brings multiple healthcare services to one location.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A $7.4 million investment by Atrium Health Navicent is bringing a newly renovated and relocated healthcare center to Macon.
The W.T. Anderson Health Center offers multiple healthcare services in one location, including trauma and surgery, orthopedics, nephrology, rheumatology, cardiology and pharmacy services.
Taryn Blanchard, vice president and senior medical director for Atrium Health Navicent, says the goal is to make healthcare more accessible for patients.
“This is a place where it doesn’t matter how much money you make, what sort of insurance that you have,” Blanchard said. “You will receive top notch clinical care in this place.”
Blanchard says the center gives patients a place to receive specialty care, primary care, women’s health services and medications in the same location.
“What we’ve done essentially has created a home for our patients where they can get specialty care, primary care, women’s health and even retrieve medicines, all in the same physical space,” Blanchard said.
Blanchard says the new space also addresses healthcare disparities in the community.
“We have many health disparities in our community, and we need to close those gaps,” Blanchard said. “We need to make sure that everybody’s healthy, because when we all are healthier, it’s better for the economy, it’s better for our children, it’s better for the community in general.”
According to Blanchard, some clinics had become saturated, while transportation and other factors made it difficult for some patients to reach care.
The new center will also serve as a training site for medical residents. Internal medicine, surgery and OB-GYN residents will receive hands-on experience at the facility.
