New smart phone app lets parents track Bibb County school bus routes
It’s called “My Stop.” It uses the student’s ID number to give parents up to date route information. Once you put in the number, you’ll see the highlighted bus route. The app will give let you know if a bus is going to be late, on time or is taking a detour.
Bibb school officials hope this app cuts down on the number of people who call the transportation office when a bus is late to its stop.
“It’ll be very helpful with the special needs routes. Especially in the rain, with the weather and it being so cold. You don’t have to stand out there maybe 20 to 30 minutes waiting for the bus. If the bus is running late that morning, you can check the app,” said Michael Cheek, the Bus Routing Specialist for the Bibb County School District.
Cheek said the main reasons buses are late to stops is because of traffic. The app is free and available in the app store.
