MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A new space designed just for kids is now open at Atrium Health Levine Children’s Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital in Macon.

The playroom was funded by local Chick-fil-A operators through the Cookies for Kids campaign. The effort turns everyday purchases into something meaningful for families across Middle Georgia.

Hospital leaders say the room is meant to give young patients a break from treatment, offering a place where they can relax and simply be kids.

Rashard Johnson, president of Atrium Health Navicent, says spaces like this can make a big impact during difficult times.

“Anytime you have a space that’s just dedicated for kids to be kids, and takes their mind off some of the challenges that they’re going through, it makes the world of a difference,” Johnson said.

Officials say the project shows how community support can make a difference for children and their families.
