New Name For Miss Music City Scholarship Association

MACON,Georiga (41NBC/WMGT)-The Miss Music City Scholarship Association is getting a name change. The name will be changed back to the Miss Macon Scholarship. The name change was announced this afternoon at a news conference.

The Executive Director of the Miss Music City Scholarship Association says the Miss Macon Program provides opportunities for young women to achieve their personal and professional ambitions.
 
“We have been the Music City for the last couple of years. But, with the recent change in the closing of the Hall of Fame, we have decided to resume Miss Macon’s title,” said April Montgomery, Executive Director of the Miss Macon Scholarship Association. 

“I have been involved with the Miss Georgia Organization for the past 5 years. I am the current Miss South East Georgia, and I competed in the Miss Music City Pageant. But, I am thrilled that they are now changing the name to the Miss Macon Pageant,” said Lakea Burrison, Miss Southeast Georgia. 

Winners of the Miss Macon Competition are eligible to compete in the Miss Georgia Competition in June.
