New Milledgeville mayor takes office
MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Milledgeville’s new mayor took office at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.
Gary Thrower’s swearing in ceremony was this morning at city hall. He says he’s enthusiastic and ready to get to work. He wants to build a trusting relationship with council members and county commissioners.
Mayor Thrower’s first council meeting is August 11.
Thrower won the run off election against Floyd Griffin two weeks ago. He will finish the unexpired term of former Mayor Richard Bentley who resigned in October because of health reasons.
