New Mercer Football Field House: 40,000 Square Feet of Impressive Views, Details

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Whether it’s the orange and black details etched inside of the massive building, or the majestic views that overlook the new home of the Mercer Bears football and lacrosse teams, it’s hard not to be impressed by The Homer and Ruth Drake Field House.

Football Head Coach Bobby Lamb has been a major player in getting the project off the ground. He says his favorite spot in the 40,000 square foot field house is his office.

“It’s probably going to be hard to work in there because of the view,” says Lamb.

A little further down the hall is a huge team room that overlooks the field, and around the corner is a physical therapy room. Contractor Chris Sheridan, says after nearly a year of work it feels good to be close to the finish line.
