New face on the Bibb County school board, West retains seat
The seat was up for grabs after, current board member Lynn Farmer, reached her term limit.
Morton won by almost 5,000 votes at 11, 764.
Morton says he’s ready to move the school board in the right direction.
“I had folks up at 5 o’clock this morning putting out signs at precincts. I’ve had people encouraging people to vote and when it’s an election May 20th which is kind of a weird time, you need all of the energy you can get,” Morton said.
Another winner Tuesday was incumbent Wanda West who beat out Darren Latch in the Post 8 race.
West beat Latch by almost 3,000 votes at 10, 759.
West told 41NBC last week, she wants the community to know she wants to see the school board succeed and is pushing to right the ship to get the board in the right direction.
