New Elementary School Opening in Bibb County

Board Members and local officials held a groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday afternoon to celebrate.
Students from Jones Elementary and King-Danforth Elementary are merging together when the project is complete.

The new school has a lot to offer and will have a major impact on students’ education.

“Its a ninety-six thousand square foot building that will be able to house all the students and offer top of the line facilities, technology, all the new features will be in the school that will help improve the education of these children”, says Jason Daniel, Executive Director of Capital Programming.

According to Dr. Steven Smith, an official name for the new school will be voted on by the board probably in the December board meeting meeting.

The school is expected to open August 2015.
