New companies launching in Macon through Mercer Innovation Center
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Nine companies are launching their business in Macon through the Mercer Innovation Center (MIC).
The MIC named four of the companies as fellows on Thursday, which means they’ll get funding, housing, office space and access to Mercer’s campus. The other five are companies-in-residence and will get office space and interns. A full list of the companies and services can be found on the Mercer website.
The MIC also announced the launch of a nine-week program called CO.STARTERS to help entrepreneurs in Middle Georgia who aren’t entrepreneurs.
“I want more people in Macon, not just students, but anyone in the Macon community to be inspired by these companies that are taking the risk and launching their businesses and come to our program at the Mercer Innovation Center and launch their companies,” Stephanie Howard, deputy director of the Mercer Innovation Center said.
CO.STARTERS costs $199 to attend and is open to community members and will begin in September. For more information, contact Howard at mic@mercer.edu.
