New Candidate Talks About Joining Bibb Commission Race

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A new candidate has entered the race for Bibb County Commission District 6, and he says it’s all thanks to his one year old daughter.

Chhor Chav, a civilian employee at Robins Air Force Base, says he wants people to look at Macon and say it’s a great place to live.

The California native who’s planted his roots in Macon says that means brand new leaders need to take the reigns.

“I looked in her eyes and said you know what, is this a good city to live in? I invested my life here now, I bought a new home and I’m working here now and I want my daughter to be here and the way it’s going and the people that’s running it, we need to really change it,” said Chav.

One of his main platforms is reducing youth violence. He said it starts with changing young people’s perception of the city.
