New Animal Welfare Center Opens in Macon-Bibb
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – More than 50 animals have a new home at the new Macon-Bibb animal welfare center.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Friday afternoon to celebrate the opening of the new center.
Bibb commissioners and other community leaders were on hand to show their support. At this time, the center has about 50 animals. Leaders say the funds from SPLOST dollars really made this happen.”It has brought our community together,it’s brought rescue together,it’s brought animal welfare together”, says Interim Director, Sonja Adams.
Adams also adds that the new center has more space and land. In the near future, they’re looking to add a walking trail and dog park.
