National Competition Focuses on Science and Students

A national program is now giving Middle Georgia High school students the chance to gain a competitive edge in the science and engineering fields.

Today, Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle announced the states participation in the Real World Design Challenge.

The program gives teams of students $1 million in engineering software to figure out challenges in the aviation industry.

Teams of 3-7 students will design a plane looking at the forces of flight, lift, weight, thrust and drag with the goal of enhancing performance and efficiency.
