NASCAR Teams Wrap Up A Busy Week Of Testing At Gresham Motorsports Park
JEFFERSON, GA – Heading into the holiday weekend, NASCAR teams were keeping the track hot at Gresham Motorsports Park. The half-mile asphalt oval has become a favorite testing facility with teams at all levels of racing.
Last Tuesday, Josh Wise made a visit to GMP in the No. 7 JR Motorsports Nationwide car normally driven by IndyCar star Danica Patrick. “This is my first time being at Gresham, and it is an awesome track and a great place to learn trends and make adjustments,” said Wise.
Crew Chief, Tony Eury Jr. said, “When we bring Danica to test, it’s mostly about her running laps for the experience. Since Josh has more experience in these cars, it is good for us to work on the setup of the car when he tests.”
NASCAR K&N drivers Max Gresham and Coleman Pressley were able to get some laps on the track in preparation for the Slack Auto Parts 150 at GMP on June 11.
Max Gresham, driver of the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Toyota, finished second in Iowa and he is looking for a victory in his home state of Georgia. “We are working hard to make all the adjustments that we can to run better,” said Gresham. “We didn’t run as well as we would have liked last year, and we want to run better this year.”
YouTube videos of interviews with the drivers can be viewed from GMP’s website at www.GreshamMotorsportsPark.com.
The Slack Auto Parts 150 on June 11 will feature nights racingl including the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, Outlaw late models, Trucks, Mini Stocks, Renegades and Mini Cups.
