NASCAR Racing Continues On Labor Day At Greenville Pickens Speedway

GREENVILLE, SC – While the top three touring series in NASCAR racing will spend Labor Day weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway, the NASCAR K&N Pro Series will be at Greenville Pickens Speedway on Monday, September 5th for the Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet 140.

The K&N Series opened the season at the track, which opened in 1946 and was converted to an asphalt half-mile oval in 1970.

Griffin’s Max Gresham, driver of the #18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota, is the points leader with a pair of wins and seven top fives in nine events. He’s the only driver to complete all 1,335 laps the series has run this year.

Dawsonville’s Chase Elliott, son of former NASCAR Champ Bill Elliott, became the first 15-year-old to compete in a NASCAR touring series race in the season opener at GPS, where he finished fourth after starting 26th. He currently sits 10th in points with five top-10 finishes in his first nine career starts.

Andrew Smith from Pooler, Georgia currently sits 13th in points and has had two top-10s in 9 races.
