Muslim Doctors Offer Free Health Screenings in Houston County

CENTERVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Several doctors and other healthcare professionals are offering you the chance to get a free check up Saturday. You’ll be able to have blood pressure and diabetes screenings, vision and hearing tests, fitness advice, pediatric checkups, and nutrition counseling.

It’s sponsored by Muslim physicians in Middle Georgia, starting at 11 in the morning lasting until 3 in the afternoon.

If you’d like to go, head to the Islamic Center of Middle Georgia at 2501 Elberta Road in Centerville.

Again, it is free to the public, and visitors will be able to sample healthy food and be able to take home some of those recipes.

According to a news release, this Health Fair is an effort by Muslim Physicians in Middle Georgia to give back to the community by offering a wide range of general health services in one place at no cost to the public. The Islamic Center of Middle Georgia is a nonprofit organization that is a part of the tapestry of the Middle Georgia community. The administration and constituents of ICMG hold a firm belief in the importance of building bridges with the public at large and extending a helping hand to those who wish to take advantage of what this community has to offer including its numerous health care providers.
