Museum of Aviation Foundation hold golf tournament fundraiser
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Golfers packed up their clubs for the 10th Annual Brigadier General Robert L. Scott Jr. Memorial Golf Scramble.
The tournament is in honor of the Macon native who served in World War II. Scott was also the Museum of Aviation Foundation’s fundraising chairmen for 20 years.
The President of the Museum of Aviation Foundation Pat Bartness says the tournament also benefits its education program.
“Last year, more than 50,000 kids went through those programs, a lot of them in science technology engineering and math,” Bartness said. “We’re trying to encourage kids to take those kinda subjects seriously, maybe grow into something that’s a STEM career later on.”
About 200 people came out and participated in Friday’s tournament.
