In Fort Wayne, Indiana, one woman was killed and eight others were injured in a shooting Friday during Independence Day festivities. Authorities have not said what led to the gunfire, and the investigation remains ongoing.

In New York City, police say eight people—including four children—were injured when gunfire erupted during a family barbecue following Fourth of July fireworks. Officials say the youngest victim, a 6-year-old child, was shot in the abdomen. Investigators are searching for the gunman.

In Pensacola, Florida, a “Teen Takeover” event ended in violence when gunfire killed a 19-year-old man and wounded at least six others. Police say the youngest victim is 16 years old.

In the Phoenix area, five minors were hospitalized after a shooting at an entertainment venue Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is reviewing a fatal officer-involved shooting in Memphis. Officials say National Guard members assisting police shot and killed a man after he allegedly pointed a handgun at them during a pursuit.

Authorities in each case continue to investigate.
