Mt. Calvary Baptist Church to host Fall Harvest Festival, community coat drive

Guests can participate in a coat giveaway to support families in need as winter approaches.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church is hosting its annual Fall Harvest Festival and Community Coat Drive this weekend, offering a free, family-friendly afternoon of fun, fellowship and giving back to the community.

The event will take place October 25 from 2 to 6 p.m. at 2704 Antioch Road in Macon. Pastor Thomas Russell said the festival is free and open to the public.

Guests can participate in a coat giveaway to support families in need as winter approaches. Donations of new or gently used coats for children and adults will be accepted and distributed through the church’s outreach ministry.

Festival activities will include bounce houses, popcorn, snow cones, face painting, hot dogs and hamburgers. The event is designed to provide fellowship and a sense of community.

“A true church is what they give,” Russell said. “You’ve got to show love to the people. A lot of times you’ve got to meet people on their level.”

The festival also emphasizes gratitude, reflecting scripture from 1 Chronicles 16:34: “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.”

Families are encouraged to bring friends, enjoy the activities and participate in the coat drive to help bless others in the community.
