MPD Respond to a Rash of Weekend Criminal Activity

MPD PictureMACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Macon Police Department responded to a rash of criminal activity that took place in the last few days, according to a news release, with several suspects being arrested on an assortment of charges.

On Sunday, officers responded to an alarm at the Checkers located at 2790 Pio Nono Ave. Once at the scene, police discovered an unsecured roof hatch on the building which allowed a burglar to enter without the use of force.  No suspect has been arrested in this case.

On Sunday afternoon, three suspects were apprehended for Robbery by Intimidation after they jumped an 18-year-old male and stole his cell phone, as well as a set of gold grill teeth.

Two of the suspects were minors and released to their parents.  The third suspect, Jaquavius Hooten, 18, was arrested and charged. He was transported to the Bibb LEC where he remains.

On Monday, the MPD responded to a robbery of a 59-year-old white male victim near the Marathon Gas Station on Walnut Street. After a canvass of the surrounding area, a suspect was arrested near Martin Luther King Blvd. and Riverside Drive.

Antonial White, 35, was found to have been in possession of stolen material and taken to the Bibb LEC and has been charged with Robbery by Force and a Superior Court Probation Violation.

White has been arrested 22 times since November of 2002.

Also on Monday, police responded to a fight taking place near Boulevard and Briarcliff Roads. Two men had to be separated from each other, with one of the assailants resisting the officer and refusing to be handcuffed.

44-year-old William Robinson was eventually restrained with the help of another officer and taken to the Bibb LEC where he has been charged with Disorderly Conduct, Obstruction, and Terroristic Threats.

This is Robinson’s 18th arrest since July of 1986.

The second male involved in the altercation, 44-year-old Harold Johnson, was cited for Disorderly Conduct.
