Moving Vietnam Memorial Moves Into Middle Georgia

Vietnam veterans in Middle Georgia don’t have to travel to the nation’s capitol to remember those lost in the war. Today, “The Moving Wall” memorial moved into Kathleen, GA. For veterans, it was a day of remembrance.

“I was 20 years old when I went to Vietnam. I was more or less a young man, but I grew up there,” says Gerald Skrinner.

There are 58,267 names on the wall, but survivors didn’t need to point them out to honor those who died in Vietnam.

“I’m here today not knowing who all was on the wall, but I know they all were fellow soldiers,” says Gerald Skrinner.

For 72 hours volunteers from Robins Air Force will be reading every name on the wall. It will be on display at Veterans High School through Sunday, May 1st.
