Mother-Daughter duo raise money to fight cancer, offer resources through local non-profit

Operation Slay Cancer was founded in 2015 after Clarice Thomas was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thomas' journey included chemotherapy, medication, and a double mastectomy.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Operation Slay Cancer, a local non-profit, is hosting the 9th annual Pink Soirée Fundraiser to raise money for breast cancer.

Operation Slay Cancer was founded in 2015 after Clarice Thomas was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thomas’ journey included chemotherapy, medication, and a double mastectomy.

Thomas’ daughter, Shania Chambliss,  said while watching her mother battle breast cancer, it ignited her passion to help all women undergoing breast cancer.

Operation Slay Cancer is a faith-based non-profit that aims to help women reclaim their confidence and start their healing process through empowerment and beauty.

Operation Slay Cancer Week will be October 20 – 27.

  • Friday, October 25: Look good, Feel better Pop-up in Macon
  • Saturday, October 26: 9th Annual Pink Soirée

Tickets are $50 for the 9th Annual Pink Soirée. Chambliss says the non-profit is giving away two free tickets to the first people to call or text (478) 207-5325.
