Mother and child dead after mobile home fire in Twiggs County

Deputies arrived on scene at approximately 1:06 a.m. and found the mobile home engulfed in flames. 

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A mother and her child are dead after a mobile home fire on Monday, according to the Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a call about a mobile home fire at approximately 1 a.m. on December 9. The fatal fire took place at a mobile home on Dale Street in Jeffersonville.

Deputies arrived on scene at approximately 1:06 a.m. and found the mobile home engulfed in flames.

The fire department and deputies extinguished the fire and determined a mother and her child were still in the mobile home.

The mother and child were pronounced dead by the Twiggs County Coroner.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. The names of the deceased are being withheld until all family members have been notified.
