Morning Report: The Fed considering an interest rate hike
The Federal Reserve meets today to once again consider an interest rate hike. Until banks began collapsing, another interest rate hike was certain. Now, the Fed must make a decision between stability and fighting inflation. It is expected to raise rates by a quarter percent.
Three major credit bureaus topped the list of complaints made to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in 2022. Consumers reached out to the CFPB for help with errors in their files as well as problems with investigations of their complaints. In total, there were 604,221 complaints tied to TransUnion, Experian and Equifax.
Stocks closed higher on Monday as traders grew hopeful that a crisis in the banking sector may be easing.
Regional banks also rose on Monday, rebounding from big losses in the past week.
Chick-fil-A is upping the price on its loyalty rewards. The chicken chain says on April 4th, point values for some rewards will increase but it will have more redemption options as well.
A new survey has found hosting a dinner at home is more stressful than catching a plane right before the gate closes, dropping your phone, or even trying to pass the SATs. A poll of 2,000 U.S. adults who celebrate Easter found that the average person had five large dinners hosted in their home over the past twelve months. The survey done, by OnePoll for Honey Baked Ham, found that hosts worry about how much food to make, how clean their place is and if guests will like the food.
