More Vaccinations Are Coming to Walmart

MACON, Georgia (41nbc/wmgt)- More vaccinations are coming to Walmart, and they are just in time for the flu season. Twenty-seven hundred Walmart stores nationwide will begin offering vaccinations for more than just the flu and pneumonia. The vaccinations will be offered at kiosks inside the stores operated by Mollen Immunization Clinics.

On Monday, the Walmart located on Zebulon Road started offering shots for several kinds of infectious diseases.

“We have the flu vaccine. We have the shingles vaccine that most locations are
currently out of here. But, our other Walmart stores have it as well. We also
have the chicken pox vaccine, HPV, and several others,” said Dr. Buffy
Johnson, Walmart Pharmacy Manager.

Walmart officials say it is the first national retailer to use certified nurses to administer in-store immunizations across all store locations. Walmart is offering flu shots for 25 dollars.
