DECISION 2024: Turner and Barron secure wins in Monroe, Dooly runoff elections
Al Turner takes Monroe District 4 seat; David Barron re-elected in Dooly

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Monroe and Dooly County voters decided the outcomes of two county commission seats during runoff elections on Tuesday.
In Monroe County’s District 4 race, Al Turner emerged victorious with 317 votes, capturing 52.9% of the total. Turner narrowly defeated Mark D’Agostino, who received 282 votes, or 47.1%.
Meanwhile, Dooly County voters re-elected Independent incumbent David Barron to the District 5 At-Large Commission seat. Barron secured 256 votes, earning 56.8% of the total and defeating Republican challenger Wayne West, who garnered 195 votes, or 43.2%.
These two runoff races concluded the remaining contests from the November election in Middle Georgia. In that election, no candidate secured more than 50% of the vote, prompting the top two candidates in each race to face off in the runoff.
