Monroe County Will Install Weather Warning Sirens

Monroe County board of commissioners passed a resolution today, to allow the installation of five new sirens throughout Monroe County.

The E.M.A. says rural areas did not have a siren system in place, so it was difficult to warn residents of an incoming storm.

The five new sirens come at a cost of $141,000, and should be installed by June 1st.

The five places getting the sirens are;

High Falls State Park

The Monroe County Recreation Complex

Downtown Culloden

Downtown Juliette

Downtown Bolingbroke
