Monroe County firefighters fired for cheating in instruction class
MONROE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Two Monroe County firefighters have been fired. Officials with the Monroe County Emergency Services Staff say that the firefighters were caught cheating in an instruction class.
According to a letter on the Monroe County Emergency Services Facebook page, the two firefighters were apart of the Georgia Public Safety Training Center’s Fire Instructor One Class.
“Whether it’s on an emergency scene or in the classroom, the trust of the public is imperative and it’s in the utmost importance to us as firefighters and paramedics of serving those in our community,” Captain Shane Cook, Monroe County Emergency Services said.
The names of the employees will not be released.
