Monroe County Board of Education fires superintendent
FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Monroe County School Board fires its superintendent.
Board members voted Saturday morning to remove Anthony Pack from the position. The Assistant Superintendent for Support Services, Jackson Daniel, said the board isn’t required to give a reason for firing Pack. He added since Pack has been out of the office for almost three months, the board felt it was time to move forward.
The board returned from an executive session with their attorney and unanimously voted to enact a previously negotiated “no cause” separation provision in the superintendent’s contract. The board also unanimously appointed Dr. Mike Hickman as the Interim Superintendent. Dr. Hickman’s appointment is effective immediately.
