Monroe County arrests two in multi-county identity theft case
Deputies said 23-year-old Mikela Kendrick of Peach County and 24-year-old Christian Thompson of Houston County were taken into custody September 4 following a lengthy investigation.

MONROE COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Two people have been arrested in connection with a multi-county identity theft investigation, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said 23-year-old Mikela Kendrick of Peach County and 24-year-old Christian Thompson of Houston County were taken into custody September 4 following a lengthy investigation.
The case involves stolen checks from several counties, including Monroe, Bibb, Houston, Fulton and Richmond, investigators said. Deputies also found a printer used to make checks, marijuana and a stolen firearm.
Kendrick is being held without bond in the Monroe County Jail on an identity theft charge and faces additional charges in Houston and Bibb counties. Thompson is being held in the Houston County Jail on multiple charges and will also face an identity theft charge in Monroe County.
The investigation remains ongoing.
