WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Warner Robins Mayor LaRhonda Patrick held her third “Moment with Mayor” event at City Hall on Thursday to allow residents a valuable chance to meet one-on-one with the mayor to voice concerns, ask questions and offer ideas.

Dozens of residents showed up at City Hall  to meet with Mayor Patrick to discuss concerns or businesses ideas.

HomeTown Tech employee Chanukya Badri says he met with the mayor to discuss how AI and machine learning is being used by the current local government and how it can be more affordable.

“We focus on how we can help better the local government and how to use AI responsibly,” he said. “And that doesn’t mean AI replacing people, but how we can seamlessly integrate AI into the lives and workflows of people.”

Badri says he just wants the local government to understand what AI actually is.

“AI isn’t meant to be a tool to replace people but to make people’s lives easier,” he said. “There’s so much busy work we do on a day-to-day basis, that we just don’t need to, so we can focus on more important things…like having a discussion with the mayor.”

He explained what he wants his outcome with the mayor to be.

“We want to see how AI and machine learning is currently being leveraged,” he said. “Then I would want to see how it can be improved or how we can introduce more tools to make things faster or cheaper.”

The mayor hopes the sessions will build stronger relationships and trust with residents.
