Mom to Mom: Easter Crayons
(41NBC/WMGT) — Today we’re going to take all those broken crayons you’ve got and put them to good use.
We’re going to make Easter crayons. If you have a ton of broken crayons all over the place then here’s a really fun and exciting way to bring those crayons back to life. Basically what you’re going to need are those broken crayons, and if you don’t have any broken crayons you can always use whole ones. Just throw them in some water to get the paper off for a couple of minutes and then break them up yourself, then we’ll put them in egg shaped molds. It is recommended to use silicone molds because it’s easy to get them out of and they’re fairly inexpensive, you can get it at the Dollar Tree or any craft store. You can also mix colors to make all sorts of fun combinations!
Basically what you want to do is take the broken crayons and place them in the molds. Now, once you have it in the molds you will put it in the oven, the oven needs to be set at 225 and it’s recommended that you usually leave them in for about 20-25 minutes just to make sure that they’re good and melted. Once they’re done to your liking, you want to pull it out of the oven very slowly and carefully and let that sit for about 30 minutes. Now, once it’s cold you will have your fun Easter themed crayons brought back to life. Hopefully your kids will enjoy this and have a great time doing it.
You can do this for any holidays, just find one of those molds and give them a coloring book and let them have a blast.
